Item details

The Forester Belt by Helikon-Tex is designed for comfortable carrying of bushcraft equipment during forest stays. The special mounting system with loops ensures stability and prevents gear from shifting. It is an excellent addition to Helikon-Tex's offering for bushcraft enthusiasts, providing a unique carrying system. The Forester Belt shares a common feature with tactical belts as it can be worn on the outer layer of clothing. In bushcraft applications, it replaces a bag or small backpack, allowing for unrestricted movement in the forest without limiting mobility or occupying hands. Using the loops, accessories such as SERE pouch, Water Canteen pouch, Compass/Survival pouch, etc., can be attached, creating a convenient and practical set for bushcraft enthusiasts. The history of the Forester bushcraft belt dates back to the 1950s during the armed conflict in Malaya, where SAS soldiers used nylon straps with clamp buckles as equipment belts, repurposing them from materials used to secure parachuted cargo. Over time, this solution gained popularity among British special forces units (SAS, SBS), the Royal Marines, and paratroopers. The roll pin buckle belt proved to be much better than standard solutions, thanks to its simple adjustment and adaptability to the user's body. There were also more complex evacuation harnesses like STABO used during the Vietnam War and their predecessors like the McGuire harness, which also utilized similar clamp buckles to those used by British units.
