The “Old School” T-shirt by Helikon-Tex is a classic cotton EDC shirt featuring a cult graphic of the press check – a traditional technique used to verify if a round is chambered without fully pulling the slide back.  The technique involves placing one finger on the bottom of the slide and the other on the trigger guard.  The design also references a famous scene from Michael Mann’s 1995 film "Heat", in which Robert De Niro’s character, Neal McCauley, performs a press check.

It’s one of many moments that add realism and authenticity to the movie and its characters. The modern T-shirt design evolved in the early 20th century from the one-piece undergarment known as the union suit. After World War II, T-shirts became hugely popular—especially thanks to actors like Marlon Brando and James Dean, who helped turn them into cultural icons.
