Direct Action HURRICANE Hybrid Chest Rig – All Available Variants

HURRICANE Hybrid Chest Rig is a full-size split-front load-carrying platform with fixed integral magazine pouches. The divided front makes the rig easier to open at the centre while keeping the main ammunition storage permanently built into the panels.

Laminate construction and integrated storage

The rig combines Cordura® 500D with a Nylon 210D laminate; the main material is 100% nylon with a stated fabric weight of 518 g/m². Each chest panel also includes a flat pocket closed with Velcro®, providing separate low-profile storage behind the primary pouches.

A reinforced drag handle is integrated into the harness. Routing points for communications equipment and antennas help organise cables across the rig rather than leaving them loose around the shoulder area.

Body-armour integration

Buckles with Velcro® adapters provide an interface for compatible body armour. The modular shoulder straps can be detached, allowing the chest-rig panels to be connected to compatible plate carriers instead of being carried only on the standalone harness.

This hybrid arrangement lets the same front panels move between a dedicated chest-rig configuration and a compatible armour-mounted setup without changing the fixed magazine-pouch layout.
